About.
PlaceDepth answers one question for every postcode, neighbourhood and city: what is it like to live here? Every answer comes from official or open data, with its source and date, and nothing is estimated where data does not exist.
We are not affiliated with any government body, estate agent or data publisher.
Crime and deprivation are shown with context and never as lists of the "worst" places. We do not rank places by ethnicity, religion or origin.
Ten countries – Great Britain, Ireland, the Netherlands, France, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and the United States – with around three million pages. Each country is published in its own language as well as English, and Wales in Welsh.
National statistics offices, land registries, the police, education and environment agencies, and OpenStreetMap. We only use data that is free to reuse, including commercially, and name the publisher, the licence and the date under every block. Sources and licences · Methodology
If something is wrong or out of date, tell us on the corrections page. We fix errors in the data pipeline itself, so the correction reaches every page that uses the figure.
